25,000 miles from the UK to Singapore, in a 1969 VW Beetle. Fiona bought Pedro the Baja Bug in San Francisco, imported him to the UK, then drove all the way to Singapore. Her route took her across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Highlights included Iran, Pakistan and crossing the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau.
From December 2006 to January 2007 Fiona and co-driver Claire drove from the UK to Gambia on the Plymouth - Banjul Challenge. The Challenge is to complete the rally in a car bought for under £100.
In August 2007 Fiona jumped in as a last minute replacement co-driver on the Mongol Rally. She started out from London in Simon's Suzuki SJ but Fiona finished the rally with Maso in the 'Feckin Irish Rovers' Nissan Micra. Simon continued with Maso's team mate Aaron.
2010 saw Fiona join Petrolhead Nirvana for their annual Viking tour, taking in Norway's most spectacular roads. She also got to drive these two little beauties; a Ferrari 575 and a Ferrari 328.
In May 2007 Fiona's friend Heather moved to Italy. Fiona felt a good introduction to Italian culture would be to partake in the tradition known as 'chasing the race'. They spent 3 days following beautiful classic cars on the Mille Miglia round Italy race.
Fiona was re-joined by her Plymouth - Banjul co-driver, Claire, for this road trip from the UK to Spyker Cars base in The Netherlands. Since a Spyker is out of Fiona's price range for now, the girls borrowed friend Bachi's BMW E46 M3 convertible for the drive from London to Zeewolde and back
In 2013 I attempted to escape aging by running away to Iceland for my birthday. Along with 7 of my friends I flew to Reykjavik where we picked up 4 hire cars and took in the sights on a tour of the Island.
